I was working opposite the police station in Llandudno doing some roof repairs to the Red Cross building, which is no longer there. My vehicle was parked on the road, below the job I was doing, when I saw a member of The Mob looking around one of my vans, I got down off the roof and went down to him, to find out what was going on, as usual checking the lights, tyres and tax disk etc.
One of the front tyres was slightly worn, due to the tracking being out, but I believe was still legal, one of The Mob issued me with a ticket for a defective tyre, I opened the back doors and showed them a brand new spare wheel and tyre, I said “I will change it right now and put this new one on if that’s alright”, trying to compromise with him, he was having none of it and was a complete idiot, I called him an idiot and told him to wait by van my whilst I went to the police station, demanded to see the Inspector and he kindly walked out of the police station and over to my vehicle with me.
I told him I had just called one of his officers an idiot, I explained all the circumstances to him and showed him the new wheel & tyre in the back of my van. I also told him that this particular van had been into KwikFit on the 16th of June 1995, this incident was 4 weeks after and this is how we know that the tyre was slightly worn as the tracking was out.
The inspector said “I’ve witnessed the new tyre in the van, you get me a letter from the lad at Kwikfit and write into me, address it to Chief Inspector Eifion Parry” which I did.
Please read my letters below this is just harassment from The Mob, out of all the vehicles parked along the road by my van, no other vehicle was checked.

I am disgusted by what you say, but I will fight to the death, for your right to say it. he said that of course in a context in a ferocious attack on freedom of speech, but the reason he said it was free speech of itself is incredibly important no matter how stupid how distasteful no matter how irritating we are going towards a society where people are afraid to SPEAK.
